Description
The Granary Burying Ground was one of my favourite stops on the Freedom Trail. Final resting place of notable figures from the past such as Paul Revere, John Hancock and Samuel Adams, this very historic cemetery in the heart of the city dates all the way back to 1660 and is the third oldest in Boston. I was fascinated by the language and carvings of the hand engraved headstones of the era, an eerie little glimpse of a bygone age.
